KEY: 

The shield represents our strength as a profession and the medical school. 

The crowning sun represents the dawning of a new day, bringing hope in health to the Guyanese people. 

The banner represents the binding force amongst the medical professionals, essential for “Preserving Life”. 

COLORS:

 BLACK: Strength, represents the fact that medicine and health encompasses all aspects of life. 

 RED: Life, Vitality and Determination. 

 BLUE: Signifies the immortality of the medical profession. 

 WHITE: Represents the ethical purity of the medical profession. 

 YELLOW: The dawning of a new era of health care professionals.

 

  Medical Students' Association (UG) Logo
 The UGMSA logo consists of two medical students (male and female) holding a shield that depicts the caduceus (perceived symbol of medicine). Beneath is the banner upon which is engraved the motto of trust: "United in Training to Care".
